The best of British Fashion Awards 2017

The British Fashion Awards 2017 were held two days day ago at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Two days later, the fuss about the event is still around!

What started as a small fashion gathering for British talents is now an international celebration of fashion! And each year it just keeps getting better.

• LAST YEAR’S MODEL OF THE YEAR

We still can’t forget last year’s event when Gigi Hadid took the stage. We were all overwhelmed with emotions when she received the ‘Model of the Year’ award. And so was she. The speech she gave totally came from her heart. And it touched ours!

• STYLE ICON AWARD

Donatella Versace won the ‘Style icon’ award. And you can’t say we didn’t see that coming.
The 62 year old talented designer, who is the figure behind the top selling fashion house Versace, won with style!

Quite expected, Donatella Versace received the award in one of her creations. Hey, she must look her best for an honor like this, and is there better than Versace!?  It’s hard to top Versace!

She was awarded by the one and only Naomi Campbell, who also wore a colorful Versace creation. I don’t know if it was the dress, or Naomi’s beauty, but once again, she took our breath away.

So, who was Donatella’s date for the night? She did not want to fail us, so she arrived on the red carpet, with no one else but… Lewis Hamilton. Congratulations Donatella you did it again! You impressed us in any way possible.

And here’s what she wore for the after party. That mini dress and boots just above the knees look like they’ve been made just for her… oh, wait, they were!

• MODEL OF THE YEAR AWARD

This year’s proud winner of the ‘Model of the Year’ trophy’ is Adwoa Aboah. Although Kaia Gerber, Winnie Harlow and both of the Hadid sisters were nominated for the award as well, Adwoa Aboah was the one who got to take the cookie home! Talking ‘bout tough competition, ha?

If your 2017 sucked, Adwoa Aboah’s didn’t! Other than walking thousands of runways, Adwoa Aboah did pretty much everything. The model appeared in the famous Pirelli calendar, she ‘grabed’ advertising campaigns with Marc Jacobs Beauty, H & M, John Hardy. On top of that, she covered Edward Enninful’s first issue as editor-in-chief of British Vogue.
