Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss, the iconic modeling duo, paired up once again for the Louis Vuitton’s fall 2018 menswear show. Do you remember when Versace brought back Claudia Schiffer, Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Carla Bruni, and Helena Christensen at Versace’s Spring 2018 show that took place at Milan Fashion Week? The world has been obsessing over that reunion ever since.
Louis Vuitton’s menswear artistic director, Kim Jones, has been the mastermind behind Vuitton’s awesome menswear for seven years. Sadly, he announced that the Fall 2018 collection will be his last with the brand. Vuitton’s gonna miss him. We will miss him. Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss will miss him.
That’s why they’ve decided to give him the sweetest send-off. Kim Jones took his last bow in Paris accompanied by no other than the two supermodels. What a lovely reunion! Both Campbell and Moss wore Louis Vuitton monogram print belted trench coats; Naomi in black, Moss in brown. The cutest thing ever – the two supermodels and Jones wore matching black combat boots and walked hand-in-hand for Jones’ last bow.
Kim Jones gained massive respect from celebrities, fashion brands, supermodels. And he totally earned it. Kim Jones took Louis Vuitton’s already stunning menswear line and developed it to the next level. For seven wonderful years, he has been setting trends and pushing the limits.
What was interesting about his last fashion show with Louis Vuitton is the thing he had never done before; Jones has never had a woman walk on his runway. Is it possible that he is hinting us on his next move? Will he be joining another fashion house but now as a womenswear artistic director? That would be fun to watch!
Rumor has it that he is thinking about joining Burberry or Versace. When asked about his next career move, Jones simply said that he is on the quest of discovering something new. ‘A constant voyage’ – is what Jones told UK Telegraph about his career.
While we are head over heels about Jones switching to womenswear and that’s how we interpreted Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell joining him on the runaway, Kim Jones said that he decided to cast both supermodels as a big thank you to Mark Jacobs.
“Love you so much thank you so much! @iamnaomicampbell and @katemossagency, this was really a thank you and reference to@themarcjacobs early 2000s Vuitton and the fact that he was the one that gave me the opportunity to be @louisvuitton love you all xxx” – Kim Jones wrote on Instagram alongside backstage pictures of the two supermodels.
Jones got a celebrity, first-row crowd. The Beckhams with their son Brooklyn, James Marsden, Joe Jonas, Gwendoline Christie etc. were among the visitors.
Kim Kardashian’s Instagram post with the Louis Vuitton symbols sent the internet into a frenzy over a possible reference to her new daughter’s name. However, she was just trying to support Kim Jones! She really got us good with this one.
Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss both thanked and congratulated Kim Jones. We thank you and congratulate you too. It has been a fun ride for seven years!
