GET YOUR BEAUTY REST
Getting enough zzz’s is crucial for your beauty. It is not just a myth and it is not just something people like to say. If you don’t trust me, you will trust science. The deep sleep period actually produces a repair hormone which regenerates cells, thus allowing your skin to rebound from all the sun and stress. I am not lying, you can Google it!
I don’t know what’s wrong with me, trying to convince you to sleep 7 to 8 hours a day. It is not like you need a reason.
SATIN PILLOWCASE IS A MUST
If you don’t want to wake up looking like a cow licked your hair while you were sleeping, get a satin pillowcase. Cotton pillowcases can get your hair matted, frizzy and tangled, especially if you toss in your sleep like you are fighting Hitler. In the long run, satin pillowcases will minimize wrinkles. It is a win-win situation!
SLEEP ON YOUR BACK
Since you decided to follow me up on my advice to get your beauty sleep, keep in mind that you must sleep on your back! Otherwise, you have achieved nothing. Did you know that dermatologists can actually guess which side of the face you sleep on only by looking at you? No, they are not psychic. They can guess because there are more wrinkles on the side of the face that you sleep on. Next time you visit your dermatologist, have him guess that you sleep on your back!
WASH YOUR FACE
Never, I say NEVER! go to sleep without washing your face. Imagine what all the dirt and dust that’s on your face can do to your skin if you let it sleep on your face. It would be best if you make a habit of washing your face a few hours before bed. That way, you can apply all those face treatments and lay in front of the TV. Blood flow is better at night, so there will be nothing on your skin to disrupt the absorption.
USE HAIR CONDITIONER
You can do a lot for your hair while sleeping. Grab your favorite moisturizing treatment and sleep with it. It is probably the best sleeping partner you will ever have! And unlike partners, the hair conditioner is easy to get rid of in the morning; just rinse it and it’s gone.
Here comes another hair tip. You would probably like to wake up looking like you just left the hair salon. Well, you can be your own hairdresser. Simply pile your hair into a twist on the top of your head. While you are sleeping, the magic will work on its own. When morning comes, voilà; major volume and beautiful beachy waves.
